Low Calorie Ice Lolly Recipes
Julie puts her low calorie culinary skills to work on ice lollies - with a twist - you'll find no orange squash lolly recipes here!
Ice Lolly Recipes
After looking at how high in calories most of the high street ice lollies are I realised there had to be another way to enjoy that lolly lickin’ experience, without all those calories. That way I thought, would be to make my own, but you’ll find no orange squash lollies here!
I took my inspiration from some smoothie recipes to avoid that watery, bland texture we all associate with home made lollies, so you’ll find these low calorie/low fat lollies will actually fill you up as well as cool you down.

Banana & Chocolate Lolly

Method
- Chop the Banana.
- Put the chopped banana, yoghurt and vanilla extract into the blender and blend till smooth.
- Divide the mix from the blender equally into 4 lolly makers and pop in the fridge.
- Break the chocolate up into pieces and put it in a glass bowl with the milk.
- Half fill a pan with water and heat it up on the hob so it boils.
- Now place the bowl with the chocolate in over the water and continuously stir it so the chocolate blend together.
- When you have a good melted chocolate mixture take the bowl off of the water (mind the steam) and leave to cool for 5-10 minutes at room temperature.
- Now top up the lolly makers with the chocolate mixture and freeze over night.
